Burrawong Farm on the Mid North Coast of NSW raises award-winning free range ducks and chickens. Beth and Hayden McMillan have worked seven days a week for the last six years and have built their business up to supply chefs such as Kylie Kwong, Colin Fassnidge and Shannon Bennett. Hayden and Beth are also proud to supply direct to the public at Carriageworks Sydney and Newcastle City farmers markets each week.
But just recently the McMillans have been hit hard by natural disasters ranging from heat waves to this crippling drought. Just as their little family business has recovered from one disaster another one hits. Now the rising cost of feed has hit them hard too.
