From Ashes We Will Rise, Rise San Nicolas

Taal Volcano is one of the 24 active volcanoes listed by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). It is also one of the world’s lowest and deadliest volcanoes.

This dangerous volcano is located in Batangas, a province 60 kilometers south of Manila. Thousands of people were evacuated on Sunday from the area near Taal volcano after it suddenly shot a column of ash and steam as high as 15km (9 miles) into the sky. Lightning crackled inside the smoke and tremors shook the ground.

About 8,000 residents of the volcano island and other high-risk towns were ordered to leave, with about 6,000 already out of the danger zone by Sunday evening.

If you could extend any help that I could give to our community, it would be really really appreciated. Most of the people on our community are farmers and one of their fears are their livelihood are now deeply affected by the sudden eruption of the volcano.

This fundraising would be for the people of San Nicolas especially our Barangay. Many people or organizations didn't know that aside from other big towns, San Nicolas is deeply affected. Actually, the southern half of Volcano Island falls under the jurisdiction of San Nicolas.
