Help save Niel Kenneth Gamuyod

Help us save my son Niel Kenneth F. Gamuyod to win his battle against Aplastic Anemia. He is currently at St. Luke's Medical Center Taguig Cty, Philippines. His first Bone Marrow Transplant last September 26, 2017 has failed because antibodies have developed and destroyed the transplanted stem cells.

His health condition worsened because of very Low Immune System as a result of low Complete Blood Counts, particularly his Hemoglobin, Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells and his Platelet counts and he will have to be confined to the hospital to prevent from acquiring an infection.

It is far beyond our expectations that by bringing him to the hospital to be cured has resulted in a life threatening situation.

Our hope for his second Bone Marrow Transplant vanished because my wife's HLA typing did not match my son's HLA typing. The other option for his next Bone Marrow Transplant is to go abroad, an option far beyond our reach due to much higher cost.

What his Doctors are trying to do right now is to revive his old bone marrow cells by continuously giving him a combination of medicines. My son's body right now is unable to produce enough cells to sustain his survival as a result of his preparatory regimen which is composed of Total Body Irradiation and Chemotheraphy before his Bone Marrow Transplant. He will have to undergo a series of Platelet and Red Blood Cell transfusions, a process that will take up weekly up to 3 to 6 months until such time that his own cells will regenerate and can sustain his own.
