Help save my friend’s hotel in Bali

I met my friend Yanik as my driver during my holidays to the island in 2013. I was impressed by his warmth and kindness and even got to meet his family.

Yanik was also running a little b&b at the time, and dreamed of having a hotel of his own.

He took out a loan and finally could open doors to his hotel, Umala at Bisma, near the Monkey Forest in Ubud, in 2018.

Things went well, and the hotel got great reviews online.

Then the pandemic hit, no tourists came to Bali. Yanik found himself barely able to feed his family and has not made repayments since May and is in danger of losing his business.

He says "all of this building and furniture cost about 2 billion rupiah., and the construction was gradual, and took so long! and finally I was able to open it thanks to the loan, but there is a pandemic power like now I can't pay, it's already difficult to eat just"

Yanik supports his family of seven, hos parents, wife and three children and employs five staff, who equally have families to support.
