Hi,

I am Ryan Palmes and I'm knocking at the kindness of your heart to help us fund the medical bills of my father-in-law to save his life from the infectious disease MRSA and its complications.

My father-in-law, Simeon Locsin Punla, 63, and a public servant. He works in the municipal office of Marikina as an officer in the Office of Public Safety and Security of Marikina City. He has been a public servant for more than 20 years. He has been awarded many titles while he was performing his job and has never been involved in any kind of lawless acts and corruption incident in his entire career. A lot of people know him by his nickname Sim. Street vendors, sidewalk beggars, civilians, cart vendors, food stalls, and business establishments know him not because of bad a reputation but because he has helped in many ways that an ordinary civilian would need help. In as simple as helping an old lady or person carrying a lot of items to cross the street, buying or sharing his food for the homeless and beggars, fighting crimes like drugs, robbery/hold up and extortion and even going against is colleagues that are not doing the job that they have sworn an oath to instead using their uniforms and badges to take advantage of weaker people for their own financial benefits. In performing his job, he has earned a lot of friendship and equally, a lot of enemies. But that never fazed him. Instead, he even got more motivated because he knew that he was doing his job that way it should be done which was the right way.

August 6, 2020, Thursday, he just suddenly went home because he was not feeling good. He was complaining of severe back pain and had a fever. August 9, 2020, Sunday, he was rushed to the hospital and was confined in emergency critical unit. While staying in the confines of his bedroom in isolation as he was thinking that he might be infected by Covid19, he started to become weaker, not being able to stand alone without being assisted and losing the motor movement of his arms and legs. He started becoming unresponsive and had slurred speech. He was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance as an emergency case, but, several hospitals did not take him in because he has symptoms of Covid19 and the only hospital that took him in was St Lukes Medical Center. He went under several emergency procedures, MRI, CT Scan, blood test, and Covid19 test. MRI and CT scan revealed that he has swelling and bleeding in his brain and a blood test revealed blood infection. The doctors were at lost and can't figure out where he was getting his swelling of the brain and blood infection. First COVID19 test yielded negative but the doctors cannot out rule it totally because he was also diagnosed with progressive pneumonia. His second COVID19 test still was negative but it only made it harder for the doctors to find out what is really happening to him. Several tests were added like HIV test that yielded negative result and 2D echo that showed that he is also having problems with the heart. They later found out that the infection stayed in his heart resulting to pumping infected blood all over his body causing the bleeding of his brain and his other organs started to fail. His kidney stopped functioning properly and needed dialysis on a daily basis. He was sedated to induce sleep, to slow down his body activity and to slow down the process of his body deterioration due to the infection. He was later diagnosed with MRSA. An infection that starts with the skin and goes to the bloodstream if untreated. This is a very possible cause of his condition. In his line of job, he walks the street, goes in the public market and has multiple engagement with people while doing his job.

Right now, since the disease has progressed severely that it has reached his brain and his organs, he is taking several antibiotics, he is connected to a respirator 24/7 and doing dialysis on a daily basis. We are just a simple family, who has simple jobs and living on our monthly wages. We are asking the kindness of your hearts to help us save our father's life. He has been a father not only to our family but to the community and has dedicated his life in serving others not himself.
