My name is ai, and I am a 26-year-old woman currently based in Nigeria.

I am estranged from my family due to differing religious believes and I am a survivor of sexual assault and abuse. In spite of this, I have worked hard to shed the labels of my old life and have been trying to take the necessary steps to begin a new life. When I picture my new life, I see one where I am free to be myself, where I do not fear for my life or safety and where I can feed my passions for writing and teaching. When I picture this life for myself, I see it in Canada.

When people speak of the American Dream, they forget often about the Canadian Dream, a land truly filled with possibility, prosperity and kindness. I see it as a country where people can be free to be themselves without fear of physical or emotional retaliation. When I see my new life, I see myself moving to Canada, contributing to a Canadian community and finding friends who are supportive and open-minded.

I have tried to work towards this dream myself, I began preparing for the IELTS exam however, due to financial constraints, I was unable to complete the process. I have started a small business to help support myself snd my dream however with COVD-19, it has been difficult to yield the kind of results I would need to be able to move to Canada.

I need your help to make my dream a reality, any donation, whatever the amount will bring me one step closure to achieving my dream.
