Help save my Airbnb in Tokyo!
See my Airbnb listing below!
Hello friends! My name is Brian. For those of your who don’t know me, I am one of the pioneers of Airbnb hosting in Tokyo, Japan. I’ve been an Airbnb host in Tokyo since 2012 when there were only a few listings.
Since then, I have had the pleasure of hosting thousands of travelers and creating countless memories for people who come to explore Japan.
Of course hosting Airbnb has its ups and downs. Through the years, I have faced resistance from property owners, neighbors, home owners associations. But I have over come those challenges to become a dedicated host for 6 years now.
Recently, I and the Airbnb Host community in Japan, have been facing the biggest challenge yet.
On June 15th, the Japanese government passed a law making all Airbnb listings illegal unless the host has a license to host.
The biggest hurdle in getting licensed is that listings are required to have a commercial grade fire safety system installed in the property, like the ones that hotels have.
To my surprise, the price tag on those systems are quite high. However, if I don’t get it installed, I will have to shut down my Airbnb. For this reason, I am asking for your donations to install the fire safety system to help keep my Airbnb running.
With your help, I can continue creating memorable experiences for friends and families visiting Japan who want to experience living in an Airbnb.
I need the funds by June 30th to pay for installation in full.
Thank you so much for your help! And I hope to see you in Japan!
