Help save Erika!

I would never have thought this horrible disease of the 21^st century would affect my family. I would have never thought that one day I would write something like this hoping to save my sister. Cancer is horrific and grim and nasty. It affects so many people in the most awful way. It has affected people I knew and loved. And now it is ruining my sister’s life.

My sister Erika is only 43 years old. She has been a teacher for 22 years. She has devoted her life to school and her pupils; she is a respected and favorite teacher of many pupils who are praying for her today. But unfortunately only prayers are not able to fight this terrible illness. The treatment, medicine and chemotherapy are terribly expensive.

When we learned about the illness about a year ago we were shocked. Breast cancer, stage 4, metastases in the bones... We passed the terrible stages of hopelessness and despair, then we recovered ourselves and she began the treatment. We were determined to do everything possible to save her. We went through a terrible period when she could not even get up, eat or move and reached a stage when she could already get up, move with our help and even return to her work for a short period. We were so happy thinking everything was on our side. Alas… It was just an illusion.

All of a sudden her state became worse, she began feeling weaker. We turned to different doctors and the examination showed the metastases had increased by 30 percent reaching the skull. She is now awaiting the neurosurgeon’s examination. The aim at this stage is, at best, to halt the cancer and maintain things as they are. We pray that this will be the outcome.

Her two kids /15yrs and 9yrs/ are going through a terrible period of stress and fear of losing the dearest person in this world.

We are doing everything possible and impossible to pay for the treatment but we still need help. Any amount of donation would be sincerely appreciated. Thank you so much in advance for your generosity and support.
