Help Save DJ Tom Tank

DJ Tom Tank's health is in very bad shape right now...as many of you know, Tom has been struggling with obesity for many years, and his health has deteriorated to the point where he is hospitalized again, this time since November 8th, 2018, at Varchira Public Hospital.

There was so much pressure on his body, he suffered a heart attack and he has been struggling with major fluid buildup in his lungs, in addition to his diabetes and all the complications that goes along with this.

They have managed to stabilize him in the hospital and have him on a strict diet in order to get his weight under control to the degree where they can take the next steps.

His doctor has been recommending a surgery intervention, 'Gastric Sleeve Surgery', for the last couple of years, which Tom has avoided in the hopes he could mange his condition himself.

Now as his condition is so serious, his heath is at the point where major steps need to be taken if he is going to live...first the surgery, then his commitment to a complete lifestyle change and a long road to recovery and health, which he realizes, there is no other option.

The purpose for setting up this GoGetFunding page for Tom, is for a few reasons:

1. To assist the cost of the procedure. Tom is at Public Hospital, so most of the cost is covered, but there will extra fees, over and above what is covered

2. Tom is the only money earner in his family, and as he is currently unable to work, and won't be able to for a few months, some assistance to cover the basics for him and his family.

3. But most important, to create more awareness within the community to his struggle and wish him to not only get well, but to encourage him to stay on the right path of a complete change of lifestyle.

He knows how far down he has fallen and wants to be around for many years to be there for his family and friends, so he understands what needs to be done to stay alive.

I hope with the surgery intervention, love and support from his family and friends, and his outright commitment to a change of lifestyle moving forward, Tom will be with us for many years to come.

He would be happy to have his friends visit him at the Varchira Public Hospital, it will give him strength to know that people care.
