Please join us in our fight for baby Neariah Reign Tejada's survival.

2 month old Neariah was recently diagnosed with Biliary Atresia, a rare congenital disease where bile cannot flow into the intestines, eventually damaging the liver, which becomes fatal without surgery.

Bile is normally produced in the liver. Bile serves an important function in digestion. It normally travels through the bile ducts until it reaches the small intestines to help digest fats.

In Biliary Atresia, the bile ducts are blocked which forces bile to accumulate in the liver which then eventually destroys it. The liver serves multiple important functions in the body and with it being seriously damaged, it will cause further damage to other parts of the body and can be deadly.

The only way to help Neariah is to undergo life-saving surgery called the Kasai procedure where it will allow the bilr to flow into the intestines uninterrupted.

However, surviving surgery is only one part of Neariah's family's problem.

Neariah's father works as a security guard and her mother is a housewife. Her dad is the only breadwinner in their family and his salary is definitely not enough to fund for her operation. They need to prepare at least 300,000 PHP for treatment and hospitalization costs, including surgery as she needs the procedure done as soon as possible. The longer the surgery is put on hold, the lesser are Neariah's chances for survival.

This is where you can play a very important role in Neariah's life. She needs any amount you can share to cover for treatment and hospitalization costs.

A peso you donate gives baby Neariah a shot at life

  • Hi everyone. Thank you for your support for Neariah. However, she passed away this morning at the regional hospital due to severe cholangitis. She has been suffering from complications this past few months. She was last admitted for anemia requiring blood transfusion three months ago. She has not been completely well ever since. I have no new updates regarding her funeral but I will keep everyone updated. Thank you once again for being on this journey with Neariah and her family.
