Campaign Story
Through the years, Mark has been the caretaker for our dogs at the kennel. Loving, patient and caring are just a few of the countless positive traits we admire about him. He treats our dogs the same way he treats his own children.
Last December 2018, Mark's wife gave birth 2 months earlier the due date, to a beautiful baby boy, James. Unfortunately, since there were a few complications, he had to be put in an incubator for a month. This helped baby James recover and heal. However, on the night of March 3, baby James started turning purple, which meant he lacked oxygen. We immediately rushed him to the nearest hospital, as we arrived the emergency room, we were advised that they didn't have an oxygen machine. As a result, we had to transfer to a hospital which was further.
Baby James was in critical condition and remained in the ICU for the next 4 days. He was diagnosed with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE); it is characterized by clinical and laboratory evidence of acute or subacute brain injury due to asphyxia. The primary causes of this condition are systemic hypoxemia and/or reduced cerebral blood flow. In addition to this, Baby James was also diagnosed with pneumonia. Hence, the need for multiple lab tests, treatments and and constant supervision in the ICU.
By the grace of God, baby James became stable and was transferred from the ICU to a normal hospital room, which he is currently staying in up to this day.
We have setup this fundraiser to help Mark and his wife. We humbly ask for your help to raise 280,000 PHP or 5,500 USD for the oxygen machine, lab tests, medicine and hospital room. No parent would ever want to experience this with their child. We would appreciate any amount of support to raise funds. Lastly, we ask for your continued prayers for baby James, that he may recover soon, and that he may finally come home.
