Hi, my name is Agnes Mottie Thomas, I live in India. Few months ago I heard about this young Liberian footballer named Salia who came to India in October 2016 in search of greener pastures to help him family and fell ill. After multiple hospital visits, examinations, no doctor was able to diagnose what exactly was wrong with him...I have copies of all of his medical reports as proof.....Upon hearing of his situation, I contacted the Liberian consulate here in India but I was told the consulate can only try to help with documentation but no financial help. Salia was sent there to meet the secretary to the consul general but was denied entry on couple of occasions. Request was made to meet the consul general but that was also met with a hostile response.

The Liberian community in south Korea, however posted a pic of him on facebook and started raising funds to help him get better medical care that is when we in India found out and decided to send someone to meet him. The community in south korea raised 800usd and that fund was used to take him to a better hospital where he underwent multiple medical examinations...after being ill for 10 months without a diagnosis and in a lot of pain, his recent MRI report finally shows a chronic infection in his spine and the apollo hospital where he was diagnosed, advised immediate surgery. He was sent to a government hospital for help but he can only get medicines to take and a 2nd doctor also adviced surgery because at this stage of the infection, medications will not help. Cost of the surgery is $4000. We have tried organizing help from Liberians here in India but so far very little has been achieved.

His condition is deterioriating, he is bed-ridden and it hurts my heart to see him in such a state that is why i decided to reachout to you all.
