Help Sarah Keep Her Kids Safe

My friend Sarah, is a loving mom and very dedicated to her children. In 2012 she went through a divorce and when her husband left he disappeared off and on for 4 years. In that time, with little or no child support she has held it together, worked hard and taken care of her children. In 2015, her Ex-Husband took her to court to try and get custody of her two children. In the end he didn’t win, and Sarah retained custody of her two children. In July 2017, Sarah received an email at 12 a.m. from her Ex-Husband explaining that their 8-year-old daughter had tried to commit-suicide with a knife after trying to run away from her Ex-Husbands home. While her 10-year-old son trying to run away was found hanging from a 12-foot privacy fence.

She rushed her children into their counselor’s office where she took her kids home. She feared for their safety. Her children told her and their counselor a horrifying story of verbal and physical abuse. Because she has taken a stand to keep her children safe, their father is once again taking her to court. Since the incident at their father’s home, Sarah has had to take her children to counseling 3 times a week. That is missing work and now with the expense of a lawyer it is becoming harder to pay bills and support a lawyer.
