Campaign Story
The 11th Pan-African Literacy for All Conference takes place in Kampala, Uganda from 20-22 August, 2019. I have been approved to present a paper! I will be sharing about my little experience working with high school and university youth to inspire and equip them to help tackle the gaps in African children's literature, and inviting others to join me in exploring the potential of empowering and collaborating with more youth across the continent. Many children in Africa have little or no access to books, especially in their first language. In many cases such books do not even exist. Yet. But I believe the youth of today have plenty of untapped potential to change this situation.
I also look forward to networking with many other people from all across Africa and learning from their experiences and ideas about improving literacy across the continent.
I need about $1000 to make this trip happen-- $700 for roundtrip ticket from Lebanon to Uganda, $250 for conference registration fee and $50 for the visa. For me that is a lot of money right now, so I invite any well-wishers to partner with me financially if possible.
I also appreciate your prayers and positive thoughts for this event to support my career in education and development, and ultimately the impact I hope my career will have on the lives of disadvantaged children!
