Help Samanta Kaye Mahilum Fight Retinoblastoma

Samantha Kate Mahilum, a 3-year-old girl, who lives in the island of Cebu, Philippines, has been diagnosed with Retinoblastoma since she was only 8 months old. Retinoblastoma is a cancer of the eye which affects mainly the retina and can spread to the brain if left untreated. Her left eye has been affected by this type of cancer and due to its severity, her left eye has gone blind.
Samantha comes from a family of four. Her father works as a welder who is just earning the minimum wage and her mother is a housewife who attends to Samantha’s day-to-day needs. She also has a younger sister who is still an infant. The family have been doing their best to care for Samantha and have been working hard finding ways to have this life-threatening disease treated. Just recently, Samantha’s remaining sense of sight has been gravely threatened due to the progression of the disease. The doctor said that she URGENTLY needs surgery to prevent the spread of the cancer not only to her unaffected eye which is her right eye but also to the brain which may cause permanent brain damage and even death.

We are appealing to all kind-hearted people to ease up her family’s burden on surgery and chemotherapy treatment. The total cost for treatment will be approximately P 800,000.00.
