This will be the first book about Usora, about Usora's ethnology. Imagine 300 pages of collected folk tales, songs, written customs celebrating Christmas, Easter, Christmas Eve, photos of folk costumes, cultural heritage that connects you with your roots and your homeland wherever you are in this world today.
With this project, the author Ružica Ivić wants to leave the valuable collected material about the great cultural and spiritual wealth of the Croats of Usora recorded in her new book for generations to come, and to preserve the national treasure from oblivion.
Ružica Ivić is a retired Croatian language teacher and lives in Žabljak, Usora Municipality, Bosnia&Hercegowina. She has been dealing with the ethnology of the Usora's Croats since the early 1970s and is the leader and choreographer of the cultural and artistic society "Izvor".
The estimated cost of preparation, publication and promotion of 500 copies of this book totals 5,000 KM or 2,500 eur, of which 750 eur has already been collected thanks to donations from Usora's entrepreneurs.
