It's Valentine's Day! Please remember some of the "true loves" of your life...our animals! Rosey's heart is still with saving puppies and pooches from the kill shelters and then finding them their forever homes.

By making a donation you may feel as if you are saving a dog (and you are) but for all of us that have had the responsibility, honor and pleasure of adding a dog to our family....then you know that it's the dog that saves us!

Please join me and donate in honor or in memory of one of your true loves!

Our donation today is in memory of "Gus Kirby" (or known by his cousins as Gussie Bear)...my brother and sister-in-law's sweet and greatly loved black lab. He crossed the rainbow bridge this weekend...right into the arms of his "Gran Paw Paw", Exum....whom welcomed him with a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios, I am sure.

Thank you.

If you didn't have time to read how this campaign started...keep reading here. Don't forget to click on the pictures to see some of the pooches that you will be helping and please read our updates. 1 year ago I found 4 puppies on highway 53 between White Lake and Wilmington, NC. Though I have taken care of abandoned dogs before, I have never had to care for puppies in this bad of shape. I was in a panic and friends led me to my first new "fur"ever friend, Sara, whom then led me to another "fur"ever friend, Rosey.

Rosey has made saving dogs her fulltime job. Every week she visits the local NC kill shelters and pulls dogs from their soon to be fate of being euthanized. She spends her own money having them spayed, neutered, dewormed, and vaccinated. Once they are healthy enough she tries to find them forever homes by bringing them to Pet Smart on Saturdays and Sundays for the adoption days. If she can't find them a forever home with someone else, they become part of her home and family forever..no matter their breed, weight, or age.

Sara and I have come to know Rosey's loving heart and admire her determination in saving as many dogs as possible. This lifestyle obviously requires more than just love (if it was only love, Rosey would have enough in her heart to save every lonely, abandoned, misfit, or handicapped dog by herself and many more of us would do it). Many people have asked us how they can help with her never ending vet bills, dog food, beds, collars, and gas (she drives an hour each way to Pet Smart or the vet). We have started this fund so that anyone can now help.

Rosey took the puppies that I found and nursed them to health so that they were ready for adoption. Sara and I went to Pet Smart that Saturday to see the puppies and couldn't believe how much they had changed in just 2 weeks. They went from being hungry, scared, and filthy to healthy, happy, and playful. Rosey made it possible for them to have an amazing life and all 4 were adopted that day. If you know Rosey or love what she does and want to donate to her cause, please do!

Thank you!
