My name is Rosa Tiimuma Domingos and I was born in Pomfret, a small desert town on the edge of the Kalahari desert in northwest, South Africa. I moved to Bloemfontein with my family when I was about 6 months old. I am now working as a Trainee at the Department of Water and Sanitation in the Geohydrology (Groundwater) section in Cape Town.Since my early childhood, I have had an innate passion for groundwater conservation and advocacy. As a result, I did an undergraduate (Geology) and postgraduate (Geohydrology) study at the University of the Free State because these two majors were the necessary foundations I needed to apply to my water-stressed community.
Moreover, non-functional water supply and sewage systems in Pomfret. Getting water required buckets, bottles, a wheelbarrow and a few kilometers of trek just to get to a tap, and I wanted to change that for my community, hence my fascination with groundwater as an alternative source for water supply.
I recently decided to apply for a masters programme at the IHE Delf in the Netherlands and got academically admitted. I have applied for funding, but I need to make my own contribution before I am deeded satisfactory to be given the scholarship. I need to raise $ 1750 (which is approximately R25 241,65) by the 15th of August 2019 to be formally accepted and to begin the registration process at the University.
However you can and from the kindness from your heart, I implore you to help me reach this goal and bring my dream of studying in Delft a reality. I will appreciate any help that comes from you.
