I am Rolando Berino Jr., 19, a 3rd year student of Eastern Visayas State University - Main Campus (Tacloban City) currently taking up Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science. I am one of the thousands of applicants in Asia who was selected to participate on the Asia Student Summit 2018 in Seoul, South Korea on July 16-20, 2018. I have been selected from 3,041 applicants to be part of this youth leaders summit. Asia Student Summit is organized by International Global Network, a platform that focuses on youth capacity development based in Indonesia.

This annual student summit started in the year 2016. It was established to uphold and develop the leadership of young leaders through the course of education and career through study visit, company visit, heritage place visit, and workshop and seminar program. It aims of bringing together youth leaders across Asia to expose them to the culture, economy, and educational system of an Asian country – and for this year, South Korea – with the hope that the knowledge that the youth leaders will gain during the summit will help them create significant changes in their beloved countries.

This summit also encourages the youth to make a deep understanding on Asian cultures through exchange and sharing ideas, initiatives, and experiences among the delegates from around the world. My interest in culture, media, history, entrepreneurship, politics and activeness in many platforms, especially in the field of journalism, pushed me to apply for ASS 2018. I also love meeting different people and sharing ideas, initiatives, and experiences with them. With all the thousands of local and foreign applicants, I did not expect to make it to the list. That’s why I am really hoping and praying that with all your help, I will be able to grab this very rare opportunity.

The sad thing about this summit is it is not fully-funded or free. It is self-funded. That’s why I would like to ask for your help for funding my expenses for this summit. The fund that I will be able to raise will be used for my registration and flight ticket. Your help will be very much appreciated. The participants need to pay 600USD (approximately P30,000.00 in Philippine Peso) as registration and deadline for payment is on May 30, 2018, and I need to shoulder our flight tickets. As of now, my savings is not capable of sending me in this huge dream. With this, I am knocking on your heart, any amount that comes from the heart will be appreciated. I am hoping that through you, I will be able to grab this once in a lifetime opportunity for me to grow as a youth leader and a significant being in the society.

For your monetary help, you may deposit it to my Chinabank Account: 109702009709, or you may send it through remittance service providers in your convenience. You can also give me a private message if you wish to hand me your help personally.

Here’s to the future generation of Filipino Youth Leaders!
