Hello everyone out there and thank you for visiting our fund raising site!

My name is Astrid and I'm a student at Gothenburg university, studying social work. I just had my field practise semester done in Kampala, Uganda. I there meet a lot of amazing people, who all try to do the best they can to improve there situation. There was especially one guy named Robert that amazed me, and hearing his story I could not believe that he had made it so far in life on his own. Now Robert is in need of fundings to be able to have a future that can give him hope to change his situation. Please help him!

Why help Robert?

Robert has been accepted to a school in Senegal to improve his dance-skills and learn more about how to pass his knowledge on to others. Its one of the best dancing schools for African dancers and there is only 20-25 dancers getting in the program. This is his chance to get a future were he don't have to worry about how he is going too have money left over for food or medication when the community kids has been taken care of.

If Robert is able to go to this program, he will be able to get a job that can support him on a regular basis and his knowledge will be passed on to other kids in difficult situations where his classes sometimes is there one hope.

Let me tell you about Robert.

Robert is a very talented dancer who is 22 years old from Uganda, where he still lives. As a seven year old Robert and his mother got separated due to financial difficulties. He went to an organisation which was working in his aria to ask for shelter until his mother would come and get him within a months time. His mother never came to pick him up from that organisation. Through that organisation he was able to go to school and there was when he first discovered dance. From there he took every opportunity to learn more of different dance styles that he passed along to others. When the organisation Robert grown up in collapsed he and one of his friends from there started a new one, focusing on the community children within one of Kampala's slum arias. Until this day Robert lives at this new organisation, teaching the community kids about dance, art, yoga, helping some of them with school fees and giving support to the young parents within the aria. He is also a talented dancer who has worked hard for every little thing he has accomplished. Right now everything he earns goes back to others, that asks Robert for help. Even if Robert himself does not have much, he gives what he have to other ones in his surroundings.
