Help RO learn and research the World

Hello everyone!

This campaign is proposing to create an alternative opportunity for science learning and scientific research dedicated to scholars and students, but without age limit for volunteers or science enthusiasts.

The aim is to raise money and physical donations in form of outdated, but working laboratory equipment, computers, or research consumables in order to develop an alternative laboratory and/or facilitated access to research methods and infrastructures for young people eager to learn and experiment more than the current education and research systems can offer. Performance awards are envisaged to stimulate the most dedicated scholars. Also, this campaign may be a good, unconventional way to find collaborators in applied research and education in science.

In my 12 years research experience, i’ve got in contact with different research methods and infrastructures from Europe (Germany, UK, France, Italy), and i’ve dreamed to implement in Romania the best research practices and learning strategies i’ve observed abroad. But the current opportunities in Romania to access research funds through project competitions are limited due to a continuous under-financing of research and education, 0.17% in 2019 instead of 1% from GDP as recommended by EU, and less than 0.3% in the last 10 years, as very objectively presents the current situation relevant members of one of the most important Romanian research association, Ad Astra:

This campaign started as a personal, interior cry for help for life. It wasn’t heard, or understood, but somehow, i managed to get over it alone. I am still suffering of post-traumatic syndrome disorder, but i believe the worst has passed. Nothing military-related, but something more common, like home intrusion… And this is, in my head, one of my best good ideas i had in the last 2 months to self-motivate and reborn from the ashes… Through this campaign i am hoping to develop an alternative way to promote learning and research, and gain independence of action despite current system lacunae.
