Let me tell you a
story about a beautiful woman, my mum.
She was born and given to an orphanage, taken by my grandfather at age 6, she was raised in the Soviet Union (as Latvia was part of it back then)and she has a hardworking and lovely personality. She spent most of her young years working in a radio equipment factory called VEF and never complained about her life. At 1993 she gave birth to me, it was a unexpected birth.
On the way to feed her baby she was hit by a truck which made her spend a couple of days in the hospital. After that she didn’t spare herself in terms of work, and put in effort every day while ignoring headaches and a heavy feeling in her head... until 2016.
At first it was
headaches but after that her vision became blurry. In the summer of
2016 she was hospitalized and the doctors found out that she has 2
tumors in her head which lead to them diagnosing her with cancer,
tuberculum selle .
Doctors in latvia refuse to do surgery due to the fact that the tumors are too close to her nerves and it could end with a lethal mistake. So we decided to find another solution otherwise in my mom could go blind in the next six months. The solution is quite simple, a cyberknife technology (The CyberKnife® Robotic Radiosurgery System is a non-invasive alternative to surgery for the treatment of both cancerous and non-cancerous tumors anywhere in the body, including the prostate, lung, brain, spine, liver, pancreas and kidney. The treatment – which delivers beams of high dose radiation to tumors with extreme accuracy) http://www.cyberknife.com/ It’s a new technology in the Baltic states but it’s very effective. The surgery needs to be done as soon as possible to prevent her from going blind. We are not a rich family but the surgery costs 7000 EUR. We can cover one surgery but the problem is there are two tumors and that means there will be 2 or 3 surgeries depending on her condition after the first one. So I seek for help of kind people around the globe to help my mum to see her grandchildren, she still has a far way to go in her life.
