HELP RIGHT A WRONG!

This is Officer Sam Patrick. He served our country as an MP in the United States Army and was HONORABLY DISCHARGED.

He has been in Law Enforcement for 25 years, and currently serves with the Toledo, WA Police Department. Officer Patrick has ZERO BLEMISHES on his record.

My town Mayor has decided he wants out of our interlocal police contract with Toledo. He sent a letter requesting out of the contract the day after he took office, and started withholding funds for police services, and didn't get his way.

Next, he trumped up charges against the Toledo Police Department for "material breach" and falsely accused Officer Sam Patrick of burglary, just to try to get out of the agreement.

Lewis County Sheriffs Office did a complete and full investigation. Lewis County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer regarding his decision not to charge Patrick reads in part, “I am dumfounded (sic) how this matter reached my desk in the first place. The timing of this complaint against a member of the Toledo Police Department is suspect, as is the complaint itself ... there is absolutely no proof that Sgt. Sam Patrick had anything to do with any of the events alleged.”

Through mediation both towns agreed to terminate, IF Mayor Bradshaw would revoke all of his accusations.

Don Bradshaw has admitted in an interview with the Chronicle, that his actions were all a negotiating tactic to get out of the agreement.

Officer Sam Patrick has retained an attorney to file charges against the MAYOR and the Council for blatant defamation of character. These trumped up charges could have ruined his fine career and Winlock had zero concerns about the hurt that could be caused, just to fulfill a personal agenda.

What some of you may not know, when applying for any type of job in Law Enforcement, one of the questions asked is "Have you ever been investigated for criminal charges" Sadly, Sam now has to answer yes, which can disqualify him w/out even being able to explain. This will follow him around the rest of his career.

We all know legal fees aren't cheap. Sam needs our help to make this WRONG a RIGHT!

In the event this fundraiser is cancelled or there is an excess of funds, those funds will be donated to the American Cancer Society in honor of Sam's parents who both succumbed to the disease.
