Campaign Story
My name is Martin. I married Juan a little over three years ago. We have two dogs and lived in a small two bedroom house. Last month we had an interview appointment at the consulate in Juarez in order to get a visa for Juan. We were devastated when they told us Juan could not get it because he had left the U.S. for a brief time when his sister was gravely ill. Since he entered twice, he is permanently barred and must wait 10 years before he can apply again. Our family is now separated, He is in Mexico and our two dogs and I are here. I now have to get our things transported to Mexico where we also have to find a place to live. To make things worse, we cannot take our two cars. One is two years too old to be legalized and the other is a Toyota Rav that was made in Japan. Only vehicles made in Canada, United States, and Mexico can be imported.
We are having to start life over in a country that is foreign to us given all the years we have been living in the United States. Any help you could provide would be extremely appreciated.
