Campaign Story
Hi there, I want to get straight to the point here with my fundraiser page and so here goes......
It has been approximately FIVE years since I saw my Mum.
This is a very difficult position for a self confessed Mummy's boy to be in LOL... "Why so difficult" you may ask? Well when she left the country to go follow her new life abroad back in 2011, I was all but a troublesome drug addict and I had been trapped in that life of addiction for over 17 years. Just after my Mum did leave the country I had a diagnosis of cancer but this turned out to be a very positive thing! It got motivated and gave me the wake up call I needed to get me off the heroin, so "Cancer Saved my Life" book worthy I know but my priority right now is getting myself over seas to see her after all this time. She has not seen me since before the diagnosis, and of course not since I got clean from the drugs so we are both desperate to see each other.
Every mother/father deserves to be reunited if a sibling has been lost to addiction or illness and so I just hope you will find it in your heart to help with my cause. You will be helping me get out to Egypt to take some much overdue catch up time with my Mum. Thanks for taking the time to read this, nothing means more to me than making this happen and so with that in mind, I would like to thank all of you so much from the both of us.
