Help restore an historic Sicilian property

Your donation will help us to preserve the history, culture and architecture of the local community in Borgata, City of Siracusa in Sicily and help to secure local family homes residing in the building.

This would suit travel enthusiasts who not only want to see the area but want to contribute to its future!

We've been in the process of restoring this beautiful Sicilian building to its former glory, but we have now run out of money!

Back in 2017, we renovated our apartments interior with a complete refit of new furniture, but now we need to fund the refurbishment of the communal areas, front, back, terrace, atrium and stairwell.

The total cost for the whole building is around €200,000. So this is only phase 1: the first slice of the pie! If we can't raise the €10,000 to get started, we will be forced to sell it. :(

To help raise this capital, we are offering you an Italian cultural experience, filled with art and crafts, food, recipes and music, a holiday retreat, private local folk concert and even a guided tour of the city.

The Location

The building is quiet, peaceful and residential and our apartment itself is beautifully restored. Its located by the sea with panoramic views from the terrace. We have access to the beach, a short walk to the old town of Ortigia, the sites of ancient Siracusa, the nightlife and the shops. There is something for everyone in the city and its the perfect base to explore the region of Sicily. We invite you to come and stay, enjoy the city and experience the Sicilian lifestyle. Our apartment can sleep up to 5.

Your donation here allows you to pre-book your stay and later decide on your dates from 2018 to 2019. Its summer for 10 months of the year in Sicily, so don't worry about missing high season!
