WE NEED YOUR HELP!
The South African Air Force Museum's Spitfire Restoration Project team is in urgent need of funds to complete the hangar/ workshop so that we can restore Supermarine Spitfire HF Mk.IXe, TE213, SAAF 5518.
The hangar is based at Air Force Mobile Deployment Wing (Previously known as AFB Swartkop), Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa's oldest air force base. It houses the South African Air Force Museum.
The roof of the restoration hangar has been completed. We now need the walls and the rest of the structure to be constructed.
The hangar is essential for the project to continue from a restoration perspective. It will also serve as a venue to train young aviation students and engineer enthusiasts with much-needed artisan skills.
A Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) has been registered to ring-fence the project’s finances and provide a tax deduction opportunity for anyone who donates to the project.
BACKGROUND
The SAAF-approved workshop facility will be built with the short to medium-term objective of providing the Spitfire Restoration Project with a dedicated facility to restore TE213/5518.
The restoration facility will further promote restoration skills development and training and provide a facility allowing aviation apprentices to complete practical study requirements. The facility's importance to the museum and preserving vintage aircraft will expand.
The workshop will also house a Spitfire Simulator, which will generate project funds and offer the facility to train pilots on the Spitfire.
The project's planning phase has been completed and can commence immediately with the construction of the workshop facility.
Please support our Project and consider donating to preserve aviation history of this iconic Supermarine Spitfire.

Curious what will be unique about the simulator you mention, as there are already a number of (physical) Spitfire simulators for training and education purposes in the world, among others at Goodwood aerodrome and with the BBMF at RAF Coningsby.
