Hi guys,

Now after I wrote all the stories, I just wanna say that I did write in details (so some, or many, won't read it), but that's because I wanted you to give you a good picture of these dogs and what they've gone through (and I, together with them).
Also, if I missed something, I'll add it later. If you have some questions, don't hesitate to ask.
And of course, you guys who donate or spread the word, thank you so much! It means so much to me and these furbabies.

Here is my story.
I rescued my dog 2.5 years ago and that's when I started meeting many people (both organizations and individuals) who rescue dogs and cats (and occasionally other animals) and started rescuing some myself. Around 10 days after I had rescued Nora (my dog), Mirko came into my life (the lab mix). He was hit by a car and I just couldn't leave him there. He seemed alright, except for a hurt leg. We went to a vet (where we realized he got spayed since he had a city microchip), they cleaned up his wound and said to come for a check-up the day after. We did but he hadn't peed for 24h. They seemed worried and said to try again. Nothing. In the evening I noticed he feels horrible so we rushed him to a more equipped vet. They did an ultrasound and saw he had internal bleeding. He had to go for a surgery right away. Mirko had a torn bladder which was fixed but his spleen was completely destroyed so they have removed it. He took it all very well, luckily, and after that was getting some therapy while staying at my place. Stayed with me for half a year and when I had to travel, I put him in a dog boarding place. He also didn't really like cats and I have 2, so it was a bit hard to manage it all. That was in July 2016 and he's been there ever since. Since it's extremely hard to find loving homes for mutts in Serbia, especially if they are black, it was decided he'll go to the Netherlands to try to find a loving home. An acquaintance of mine who's fostering dogs from Romania offered to have him over until he finds his furrever home :)
Of course, that costs. He got a rabies shot some time ago and soon they need to take his blood sample for blood titer test. Serbia is one of those countries that is still required to do that. After the test result comes (and if it's alright), a dog can travel 3 months after that.
Mirko is around 5-6 years old - a very sweet dog who doesn't like to walk much and he gained a lot of weight since 2 years ago :( He loves the most being with his human, not a playful dog at all. Doesn't really like cats but can be in the same room if supervised and he won't touch them.

Johnny (German hunting terrier) lived in the streets of my neighbourhood for a few months. I took him to get neutered but he ran after bicycles and people, barked at them....It was even hard for me to walk with my dog because he would start barking at strangers and then 2 other strays and my dog as well and it was really a mess. I had to put him some place safe, otherwise someone would've harmed or kill him (it's quite common to poison dogs here; also to hurt them other ways). He's been at another dog boarding place since December 2017.
Johnny is a very active dog, and naughty dog at times (still haven't checked his age but I don't think he's older than 3 or 4), but he's a terrier, so that comes as no surprise. He is a big hunter, absolutely hates cats and probably would chase every little (or not so much) thing that moves. He's the sweetest with me though. Last time I went to see him, he climbed into my lap. Such a cutie pie.

After Johnny came Rumi (the little yellow one). I found him end of January this year lying on the ground and shaking a bit. I think I saw him the night before that crossing a busy road and a man trying to chase him away with a hayfork or something similar, because he was near a property where they have guard dogs and he provoked them by just being there. Anyway, I couldn't, of course, just leave him, so I managed to get the owner of one of the boarding places to come by car and help me take him to the vet. At first I wanted to take him home in my hands but he wanted to bite me. When the two of us tried getting him into the car, he actually bit me due to being in a lot of pain. It last a half an hour or so, but we found a way to get him into the car. His diagnosis was a broken rib. He had stayed at the vet for the first 10 days, got painkillers and all sorts of stuff and after that, he ended up at my place and getting some more therapy. After his rib seemed to heal more or less (he cried less and less when straining to poop), I paid off his debt with donations I managed to get and it seemed that was it. Then the end of April/beginning of May he got some bumps which later turned out to be hematomas and grew quite large. It's a liquid blood in them. He's been getting medicine and having Hepathrombin gel massaged for a long time now but there is no progress, so these days I'm contacting other vets and people to see is a surgery needed or maybe he needs to get some shots....We'll see. Whatever happens, the costs will keep growing for sure. :S
Rumi is a senior, he wants to be pet all day long, if possible. I think he hadn't been pet much, if at all, in his life. Gets along with cats well.

And last but not least is Lara, that cute black girl. I heard from my apartment that a dog got hit by a car and I went to look for her. When I found her, she had a collar, so I posted her in Lost & Found to see whether she is someone's pet. I couldn't keep her though and didn't have a ride to the vet to check her microchip. It turned out someone took her home that evening for a microchip check the next day and when realized I published her, she got in contact with me. Lara stayed at that girl's place for the weekend and then changed a few temporary stays during next coupld of weeks till I finally took her to yet another boarding place. :( She didn't have an owner. I first took her to be spayed, of course. She's been there since the end of March this year.
Lara is the sweetest girl, very active, loves to play with other dogs and gets along well with cats as well. She likes to jump on people showing them how much she loves them. Should be trained not to jump at strangers, though.

Now, I posted the rest of the debt I have for all these pups. The currency you see is Serbian dinar (RSD). 1€ is atm 117-118 RSD (it varies).
The first 4800 + some test that cost 1800 for Johnny I had already paid but the rest (2900) is still left. He had giardia and had to be treated, therefore those costs. A monthly stay for him is 50€.
4200RSD is needed for Lara for the tests for parvo, corona, distemper & giardia we had to do prior to taking her to the dog boarding place. A monthly boarding place for her is 40€ plus food 1000 RSD, which is approximately 8.5€.
For Mirko I don't have vet debts, but that blood titer test I mentioned above is gonna cost around 60-70€, still gotta check the exact price. His boarding place costs 50€.
As I had mentioned above, one of the debts for Rumi has already been paid off earlier but now we have another one of 7180 RSD.

Johnny and Lara are at places where they spend most of their days in a kennel and have a couple of hours a day of exercise, while Mirko is at one where all dogs can walk around freely but there are way too many dogs in a small space and he's really stressed out there. He's really a calm personality dog and only needs his human and peace.

One thing I don't like is that I don't have a proof of how much dog boarding places cost so I can't provide you with those. There is just a fixed price and I give them that money. I trust all of the owners and I was very careful with choosing places for the dogs. They're taking a good care of them. I've been paying all boarding places myself, except for the first month for Lara which was paid thanks to 2 lovely ladies who donated for her :)
Take into account that 150€ in Serbia isn't a small amount at all since the standard of living is quite low.

To sum up the costs, there is almost 150€ a month for boarding places, then debts for Lara 4200 RSD (around 35€), for Johnny 2900 RSD (around 25€) and for Rumi 8923.77 RSD (around 75€) up until a month ago, plus at least 10-20€ which came later (I'm not at home atm so I don't know exactly and can't take photos of those receipts, but I will add them as I can). In total around 300€. Of course, next month another 150€ so they can stay safe....I can pay some of it myself, but it's getting harder and harder. I'd love to rescue more pups but with dogs being hard to adopt and these debts, I just can't....

Of course, they are all up for adoption (in Serbia or the rest of Europe), so if you wish to adopt one of them, let me know.

Another update

Update posted by Natasa Stojanovic at 09:23 pm

My apologies for the late update.I went to the vet yesterday to pay the debt but since I'm financially not doing so well these days and dogs' boarding places have to be paid (the vet can wait a little longer), I gave 8000 RSD (that's almost 70€) to the vet. . . . .

Withdrawal update and Rumi 2

Update posted by Natasa Stojanovic at 11:38 am

I was away for about a week and as you could read in my previous update, I withdrew the money that day. However, since I haven't received any message that I have funds on my account, I checked my paypal now and saw that the money's still there. Don't know. . . . .

I just withdrew the full amount. This website got some percentage, as well as paypal.... After that, around 100€ is left. Paypal withdrawals can take around a week or so plus I won't be in the country next week, so as soon as I get it and pay the debt,. . . . .
