Help Rescue Achild

Emmanuel charity organization hails from Kisii-Kenya, It was founded in 2014 by a group of individual volunteers of men and women who are willing to volunteer and fight against all sorts of child abuse in Kenya especially in Kisii. The following child abuse vices were the major focus of the organization:

i)Female genital mutilation (FGM)

This is a prohibited cultural practice commonly practiced by the Kisii community. According to sources approximately 6000 infants are at risk of this harmful act hourly. The organization started by creating awareness in its locality and by November 2015 thirteen infants were rescued from the vice. So far we have rescued 21 infants aged between five and eleven years. The organization projects in rescuing young girls at the entire community and later to the entire state. We started from scratch with poor structures like housing among other basics. Currently the house to host those rescued is under construction and probably by the end of this year if resources are at reach will be completed.

ii)Gender Based Violence (GBV)

This is also common in many African communities and Kenya isn’t excluded. This has a great negative effect in the girl child. Here most girls are sexually abused and this practically tortures them in terms of performance. One of our key works of this organization is to rescue those abused and try giving civic education to the society at large. We decided to help those dropped out of school due to early child birth get an alternative form of education and life skills training. So far two girls have been rescued and are taking their education under our organization after rejection. We project to rescue as many as possible.

iii)Poverty.

The high poverty levels have been contributed to most negative effects in our society .This is serious affecting women and children. Wherever there is poverty it means there are no basic needs. Most families can’t access water, electricity, and even comfortable shelter. All this translates to young children travelling long distances in search of water and this exposes them to being sexually harassed or even injured. Our organization seeks to consider these families mostlyaffected especiallyorphans, those who are exposed and suffering from harmful traditional practices known as female genital mutilation (FGM) earlier child marriage and Gender based Violence( GBV) and those from poverty stricken families ( Living below poverty line).

What we need:

We are seeking $4000 for the completion of the shelter, foods, clothing, medical, life skills training, purchase few sewing machines and start a small chicken coup for generating income for the young ones who are abused,
