Help renovate a Day Care Center for Children of Indigent People

Casat II Day Care Center was established last 2007 thru community’s initiative to start a Day Care Center in the western part of Purok 6, Barangay Casat, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. The plan to start a Day Care Center started when the demand for a closer day care center since the nearest center is 6km away. The most common means of transportation, to and fro the center, for the community is by tricycle (motorcycle with side car), a necessity which a usual family cannot afford.

The community started a day care center in a form of Nipa Hut without walls and slowly improved to the present building. You can see on the pictures provided that the present situation of the day care center is not conducive for learning. The walls are made of scraps from several carpentry renovations in the community. The space/land to where the building was established was a donated farm lot within the neighborhood. Nueva Vizcaya is one of the provinces in Northern Luzon that suffers from frequent typhoon visits/landfalls. More often than not, the day care center gets destroyed and gets rehabilitated by the community thereafter. The day care teacher receives a donation of Php50.00 (~1USD) monthly contribution from each pupil for the voluntary service she provides. Nevertheless, the community still choose to continue supporting the center despite the present situation.

The fund that shall be used to establish a more stable, well ventilated building and to provide learning equipments for the children. Let us help the indigent people of Barangay Casat, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya rehabilitate the day care center for the betterment of the children’s future.
