Campaign Story
March 22, 2017: Video message from Rena for all your love and support.
FOR UPDATES: You can check the next tab for Rena's medical condition, continuous treatments and care on her road to recovery!
March 1, 2017:
Hello friends, family and anyone who's kind enough to extend their help to our dearest friend, Renalyn Dominguez.
We are asking for your donation to help
Rena with the series of her medical misfortunes since May 2016 when
she was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) and
unfortunately she's facing another obstacle.
Last February 27, 2017, she was taken to the hospital because of gastrointestinal complications due to lupus. Rena is still under observation care at World Citi Medical Center in Quezon City.
Earlier this month she was confined in the hospital for more than 2 weeks due to SLE flares, serositis and ascites. The hospital bill reached almost P500,000.
The main danger of lupus is that it can
affect nearly every organ system in the body causing debilitating and
serious inflammation if not properly treated and managed.
Please let's help Rena with her medical expenses (hospital, admission, doctor's fee, operations and laboratories), medications to prevent lupus flares and for her to continue the prescribed treatment plans for her fast recovery.
Please give generously if you can!
About Rena:
Renalyn S. Dominguez, 33 years of age was born in Manila, Philippines and the eldest of the three sisters. She completed her bachelor's degree in Communication Arts at Miriam College in 2004 and has worked overseas since 2007 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab of Emirates and then moved to Singapore to live and work since 2012 until last year.
Her hard work and dedication has earned her multiple recognition and awards such as the Outstanding Employee Award for two consecutive years (2012 and 2013) when she worked at Groupon Singapore.
Symptoms, diagnosis and hospitalization:
Sadly, she started to experience the early signs and symptoms of SLE since May 2016 when she was living and working in Singapore. It started from severe joint pain and stiffness, swelling of her hands, feet and face which was caused by edema, hair loss, skin rashes, bloated stomach and involuntary weight loss.
A few months after she was diagnosed with lupus, her condition worsened and caused severe impairments which led her to quit her job and fly back to the Philippines to get medical care and support from her family.
Last September 2016 she was taken to the hospital for blood transfusion and was hospitalized again in November 2016 due to early detection of serositis and ascites.
Gratitude
Rena is a very caring, loving, generous and cheerful person that's why everybody loves her. Let's all make her smile and help her get back on her feet by showing our love and support through this fund raising campaign.
We want to thank you for the kindness and generosity you've extended to Rena and her family.
