Help recover after being cheated

"A friend in need is a friend indeed."

As the saying goes. But these words proved to be a disaster for me. A friend of mine whom I had met at my workplace and whom I had trusted the most and helped, turned his back on me. I had given him all my savings of 3 years and took up loans to help him and his family with medical and other financial needs resulting in a debt of nearly Rs.900000 (approx $12000). I am the only one earning in my family and have been repaying the debt for more than a year but I'm unable to repay and meet the financial needs of my family at the same time after the COVID situation made life tougher. I never thought that my life would take a drastic turn because of a friend. He has blocked me from all places and I am unable to contact him anymore. My parents are unaware of my situation and since they are very old I have been trying to manage everything by my own as I do not want to give them a shock. This has put me into depression and has left a big scar in my life. I'm finding it difficult to trust anyone anymore. I am not sure how to recover from this phase of life.

Please help me raise a fund so that I can at the least close the loans. This would help me get a fresh lease of life and would help me start from scratch.
