Campaign Story
The Ostrich Farm in Rhodes which has been lovingly created by a local family and houses many different animals was destroyed by the devastating forest fires that took place on the 1st and 2nd August 2021. Many of the animals lost their lives including the beautiful Camel, Kangaroos and Lemurs. The family who run the farm also lost their home which tragically burned to the ground. This lovely local Rhodian family who are dear friends, have worked so hard to create a beautiful environment which gave a lot of joy to many visitors each year. This is a personal tragedy for the family and for our island. They are now homeless and struggling to feed and care for the poor frightened animals that survived. This family and these animals need all the help we can give. Thank you!

Update posted by Nicola Thomas at 09:14 amWhat a delightful way to start October! Being able to visit the Farma Of Rhodes and delivering the funds that you have donated so far (more than 4,000 euros!) to help them rebuild their beautiful little animal paradise here in Rhodes following the devastating fires in August! I am amazed. . . . .
