Help rebuild the Elderly Club

The club for the elderly has been operating since 1998. Every day it gathers at least 20 elderly, single people who have no other support in the community. The club offers free blood pressure and blood glucose measurements, a nice place to socialize, and some often come in the winter just to warm up because of the overpriced energy sources. We have board games for them, we organize workshops, and our retirees find comfortable accommodation here.
The building where we work has not been renovated since the war in 1991. In the past few years, we have managed to restore part of the building, but the problem is that it is on the first floor, so it is difficult for the elderly to climb up. The space on the ground floor is not suitable for work, it is necessary to change the windows and doors, and there is a lot of humidity inside. We want to provide our seniors with a safe and warm place to stay because they deserve it. We are asking all good people to help us renovate the space. Elderly people are valuable members of our society who continue to contribute to the community in which they live with their work and ideas. Help us restore their dignity and faith that they will spend their retirement days in a beautiful and orderly environment.

Klub osoba treće dobi djeluje od 1998. Svakodnevno okuplja najmanje 20 starijih osoba, samca i trenutno broji preko 100 članova/ica. Klub nudi besplatno mjerenje krvnog tlaka i šećera u krvi, lijepo mjesto za druženje, a neki starijim osobama i grijanje u zimskim danima jer naši stariji sugrađani pronalaze ugodno mjesto za boravak ovdje.

Zgrada u kojoj radimo nije obnovljena od rata 1991. godine. U posljednjih nekoliko godina uspjeli smo obnoviti dio zgrade, ali najveći problem nam jer to što se klub nalazi na katu zgrade i starijima je teško popeti se. Prostor u prizemlju bezuvjetan je za rad, potrebno je promijeniti prozore i vrata, a unutra ima puno vlage. Našim starijim osobama želimo pružiti sigurno i toplo mjesto za boravak, jer oni to zaslužuju. Molimo sve dobre ljude da nam pomognu obnoviti prostor. Naši stariji građani vrijedni su članovi našeg društva koji svojim radom i idejama i dalje doprinose zajednici u kojoj žive. Pomozite nam da im vratimo dostojanstvo i vjeru da će umirovljeničke dane provesti u lijepom i urednom okruženju. Kako bi omogućili teško pokretnim osobama da dođu na druženje neophodno je da u zajednici imamo prostor koji im je dostupan.
