On December 5 2016 a cyclone hit the town of Florianopolis Brazil, declaring a state of emergency. Dear friends of mine, Kristen and her husband, Ze, were hit hard by this event. Their home has suffered extensive damage. Electricity is out and the ongoing rains continue to create havoc on them, their pets, their livelihoods. The repair will extend from the walls and roof of their home to the emotional rebuild.
If each of my and Kristen's FB friends - each donated just $5 US Dollars RIGHT NOW - this goal will be reached and exceeded in a matter of minutes!
$1000 USD is over $3300 Brazilian Reals and would do so much to put the roof over their heads and their hearts!
It's the holidays and so many of us have so much and it often takes much less than we realize to help others, like Kristen and Ze, to rebuild and feel the love of humanity.
I have kicked this off with $25 USD. Please contribute what you can. Any amount counts!
Will you take this opportunity to directly help friends in need, and help me to help them to rebuild?
LET'S SHOW THEM SOME HOLIDAY SPIRIT!!
**THIS CAMPAIGN IS SET UP TO DIRECT DEPOSIT EACH DONATION
TO KRISTEN'S PAYPAL ACCOUNT**
In Kristen's words, December 8, 2016:
I've talked about the lack of power here after the cyclone hit. But what I haven't talked about are the emotional and mental effects. The panic and anxiety when wind starts blowing again. The sense of such powerlessness. And of course there's the financial side. The cost to repair everything is going to hit hard. Our livelihood crashed. I am just starting our business online. And Ze has been working on getting our little rental up and going. Both sources of potential income affected by the lack of connection and damage. Ze has been working on the whole trail here clearing trees and branches, fixing and setting up cables. His heart is huge .
