Help rebuild Greek monasteries victims of arson.

Hello,

We are a family acting on behalf of the victims of arsons which have occured in several Greek Orthodox Monasteries lately.

It is very sad to realise that criminals will set voluntary fires to ancient Greek Monasteries in order to steal the land from their legitimate owners. Not only do these "people" destroy the environment as most of the Monasteries are located in agricultural areas, often in forests; but they also threaten the lives of those
who live there directly by placing gaz cylinders in the vicinity of the Monasteries.

Apparently,  Greek legislation suffers from several flaws, and it seems that criminals get away since they do not get caught. Their aim is of course theft of the land and building whatever monetary project they have in mind.

Today, our aim at SaveaMonastery.org is to make this scandalous actions known to the majority as too few are aware of these deeds, and which are not sufficiently broadcasted.

In fact, between 2011 and 2012, these three communities have suffered intentional sinister known as arson. The three nuns' monasteries are in the region of Afidnai in the county of Kiourka. This region is in the North-East of the Attique on both sides of road to Saloniki; near the Marathon lake and the archeological location of Rhamnonte. Few people living in this area still and the monasteries are:

1. Covent of the Transfiguration of our Lord, town: Varnavas,

2. Covent of N. D. Myrtidiotissa, town : Kokkinovrachos,

3. Covent of N.D. Invigorating Source, town : Kryoneri-Drosopighi.
