For 7 years, Rancho Ventura (Happiness Ranch) started a journey to build a community of self-assured children and adults by fostering unique bonds between them and the farm animals they have come to love – many are rescued animals. And, due to the current crisis, it would be very difficult to find good homes for them.
Having used all our savings during the COVID-19 crisis due to mandatory government closures and restrictions, Rancho Ventura urgently needs your help to feed, care and build a shelter for 20 horses, sheep, rabbits, tortoise, dogs, cats and more.
Rancho Ventura is located in Alajuela, Costa Rica, and is a family-owned Equestrian Center founded in 2013 by spouses Chrissy Boudreau and Roberto Quintana. The Center teaches farming, animal care and equestrian experiences: including riding lessons, showjumping, natural horsemanship and equine therapy. The Center also finds sponsors to bring children from underprivileged areas - including children from community child-care services and those with families facing financial hardship.
The Center was closed for 8 weeks and is now reopened - but now at a capacity of 25%. We understand the government’s response to COVID 19 by closing and limiting facilities, however, we did not or could not stop operations: animals, still need to be fed, require veterinary care and need to be sheltered.
Rancho Ventura have received help from family members who have provided the use of a property in another city resulting in lower facility costs. However, we need to build new shelters on this new property. In the meantime, animals still need to be fed and cared for.
We kindly ask for your support to raise $14,900 to care for these animals and build shelters for them. Your generosity will save these animals and continue to allow them to enhance the lives of underprivileged children by providing scholarships for riding lessons, equine-therapy and horse camps - plus farming experiences and a whole lot more.
Donors are welcome to visit Rancho Ventura to see the fruits of their contributions.
With joy in our hearts, we will keep you posted with all updates!
Thank you for your time and consideration.
