Campaign Story
Welcome to my Fundraising Page - Help Fund my 2014 Youth Volunteer Program in Vietnam
This year I will be volunteering in Vietnam where I have been selected and given the amazing opportunity of attending the Global Volunteer Network 2014 Vietnam Youth Tour that aims to achieve international equality, with a particular focus on empowering women and young children.
I will be attending the Youth Volunteer Tour with a group of volunteers my age from all around the world. We all have one thing in common and that is to create extensive change in the world. I will have a meaningful impact on the lives of children in need, living in an orphanage in the Ba Vi province just outside of Hanoi, Vietnam.
I will be working with young children who have been affected by the use of Agent Orange to ultimately empower them and improve the quality of their life. I will also be working with their families in order to create a more sustainable and happy future for them all. I am dedicated and determined to improve the quality of their lives by positively impacting them.
Here are just a few of the things I will be aiming to do:
- Improve their mobility
- Improve their language, reading and educational skills
- Improve their mental well being and enhance their quality of life
- Provide them with a sense of identity and overall happiness
- Develop and improve their social skills
I will be an older sibling and more importantly a mentor to these children for the duration of the Youth Tour. I will also have the opportunity to experience a new culture and a completely different way of life, by immersing myself in a developing community, with such rich culture and heritage.
