HELP RAISE FUNDS FOR KENIA’S SURGERY

Kenia Sofia Fortes Lopes was a beautiful girl, aspiring model before she got burnt and disfigured in a tragic accident she had while cooking.

Our sweet Kenia was injured in tragic accident, while cooking on a gas cooker the cylinder exploded. Kenia ended up receiving the brunt of ten foot flames leaving her with second and third degree burns covering 46% of her body and her eye.

In Cape Verde 90% of Men abandon the women once they get pregnant, so almost every mother raises the child alone with her own family. Kenia's father abandoned her mother and her kids, her mother had to migrate with her two kids from another island to the capital city to find work where she works as a cleaner in a public school earning $110 USD per month.

They live in a single room, a rented one-room apt in a bad area with Kenia who is in danger of going blind on one eye where her mother takes care of her with 2 more girls., the rent is $80 per month so she only has $30 per month to pay for everything else. Her mother works 10 hours per day just to pay rent and buy $30 in food per month, so basically they have $0 for medical care and even hygiene and healthcare products they have a hard time buying.

The main issue is her eyes right now, Kenia is quite beautiful, even with the burn marks she's so cute. We want to raise $5,000 USD for her to have eye examinations and an urgent Surgery in Dakar, Senegal.

We are setting a pretty high goal amount to be raised, but that number will still likely fall short of the cost for Kenia's care. Even so, we are grateful for anything ,you can donate. No amount is too small. We are all just grateful for those of you who have reached out with a desire to help, and to give love to Kenia and her family.
