My Grandmother is a perfect example of an unconquerable soul. A very courteous, ever smiling and dynamic woman, irrespective of her age. You may wonder,"At the age of 66, what does she do?" Well, unlike others of her age she goes to the agricultural fields everyday to look after the crops. She spent her life without any male support in her family as my Grandfather passed away when my Father was a child and my Father passed away when I was a child. What a fate? All my so called uncles and relatives tried to bully my Grandma and my Mom as they were a 'Woman' in the patriarchal setup of society. She is a retired teacher and knew that education for us(me and my brother) was the only savior in that rural unpriveleged border village of India. My Mom is a House maker and has primary education only. Grandma broke the shackles of poverty and sent me and my brother for Higher education out of our town, fearing the bad vibes in the village. My brother is currently pursuing Graduation in Australia and I am studying at Delhi. Obviously, she took some immense loans from the bank to support our studies. She would not say anything but I came to know about the horrible scenario. All crops destroyed due to unconditional rains!! Farmers are in great loss since the last two seasons. Farmers, wo feed others found it difficult to feed themselves. These two brave ladies found it hard to make their both ends meet under heavy debt and tensions. Even our future and studies seem collasping. My brother topped Queensland University's Foundation year in Business Studies and would not like to drop his winning tempo. I want everybody's help to make them feel happy and less miserable. I know they would not utter a word. After all, I am their son. Kindly support to fight these hard times and pay back our immense debt. Please help me bring a smile on my Grandma's and Mommy's face. These "WOMEN" will be happy means my lord will be happy. Please share and support.
