Campaign Story
Currently access to clean water for sanitation and drinking is impossible for many villages of India.
This is due high levels of contamination in water bodies. These water bodies contain bacteria, viruses, cysts and heavy metals. Our goal is to provide clean water to the children of villages in Kerala. We need to raise funds to clean and replace piping install water filters as well as making an easy to access bore well. We hope this will provide clean water to the school and village.
Water is essential for life. It’s recommended to drink 2 litres a day and also it helps provide cleanliness decrease chances of infection and disease. However when contaminated it’s more of a death causing the potential of disease to quickly spread. Poverty stricken and the uneducated are forced to walk up to 3 miles away in search of water, returning with just a gallon.
The water retrieved often still contains water borne bacteria, which can cause brutal illness and disease. Almost 1 billion people are at risk of consuming contaminated water. The truth is 4,500 people die daily in India due to the lack of clean water. One in five Children don’t survive to age 5,due to this problem.
Financial partners are required for supplying materials to build water wells, the cost of transportation of materials to rural villages, medicine to those already affected by contaminated water and practitioner’s to administer it.
We hope to raise 3300 € in order to install the bore well and water filter within 6 months. Please share this message, so Kerala can have clean drinking water.
Thank you.
