Help Pay Mom’s Medical Expenses for Dementia + Paralysis & Building a House for Her

Four years ago, my mother suffered from paralysis due to hypertension which impaled her physical strength and capabilities. She was hospitalized for two months where she received treatment and physiotherapy. In order to pay for her immediate bills, we sold a small plot of land that we owned. Even though she recovered from it, the lasting effects of the stroke developed dementia which altogether severely impacted her physical and mental health.

The nature of her treatment depends on regular medications and the little money that we had left after her initial treatment is now coming to an end. My elder brother was laid off from his job last year due to COVID whereas I, myself am only a student. I help with the household expenses by freelancing and working a part-time job whereas my brother works at a small shop now. Even though we are trying very hard yet our combined incomes fall short at the end of the month and we end up borrowing money from our relatives, who themselves are not so strong financially. Furthermore, increasing prices and the house rent are making it really hard for us to stay afloat with the little money we had saved up. Moreover, we can hardly afford the expensive medications for our mother that are compulsory for her dementia, aphasia and physical recovery.

I fear that her health will be severely affected if it continues like this. If her medications fall short due to lack of financial means, her health will start to deteriorate and may lead to another stroke which can prove fatal.

This is the reason why I started this campaign as a last-ditch effort to help save my mom and to help build a house for her. The reason for a house is that a major portion of our income goes to rental expenses as we don't have a house of our own. This leaves us with very little money which is insufficient to afford the household as well as her medications.

I believe that if we are able to succeed in raising enough money, we can build a home that will be a gift to our mother where we can live together. This would not only make her the happiest but also allow us to afford everyday expenses without any trouble or the need to borrow from anyone. Her medical expenses would also not be a problem then. She has a resilient soul. She was an only parent to look after us after our father passed away and she means everything to us. But this is the time when we need all the help we can get and that is why I am reaching out to you.
