Hi! I am Sper, from the Philippines, these past two years were very hard for me. I was depressed, my studies suffered, and so did personal relationships. I finally decided to take a break from school and tend to my mental health. I was working as a customer service representative while funding my psych therapy. When I felt that I was doing better, I decided to go back to uni and continue my studies. Sadly, a graveyard-shift job, recurring depressive episodes, and a 26 unit per semester load was too much for me to handle; both physically, mentally, and financially. Because aside from my P60,000 tuition fee per semester ($1,100), P8,000 ($150) rent per month, P3,000 ($56) utilites per month, I also had to spare P10,000 ($180) every month for psych sessions and meds. With the expenses such as this, my P28,000 ($500) was too hard to live by, and I have accumulated P58,000 ($1,084) debt at my university. I have managed to pay off P18,000 ($336) last January.
Life decided to throw another curveball at me when last May, my grandmother had to have surgery on both of her wrists due to her Carpal tunnel syndrome getting worse. So I had to take a leave and take care of her. But the thing is: since May, I had no form of steady income. And last July, I was fired from my job. My grandmother is doing better now and I want to continue my studies in a place closer to her so I can live with her but because of my student loan, I cannot claim my Transcript of Records to transfer to Culinary school.
I am currently looking for a job to help pay off my remaining balance and to also have a little savings to enroll in Culinary school. To be honest, I don't know when I'll be able to enroll because I'd have to come with P100,000 ($1,800) per semester for Culinary school and I really don't know where to get that amount of money. I am just hoping that maybe through this platform kind hearts show me that life is willing to deal me a better hand.
Help me make my dream come true of being a chef. I believe I am good at what I do and I have the heart and empathy to share my talent and passion to the world. Thank you! Any amount would be put into paying school debt and for culinary school. :)
