Hello,my name is Paul Hineman.
First, I would like to thank you for taking the time to look at my fundraising campaign. In early 2013 I had an accident at my residence. After more than a decade working in the commercial graphics industry, I had to step away from what was a very rewarding, fulfilling and adventuress career due to my physical condition. Because of this ,I also lost my home and what was a modest but sustainable lifestyle. In July of 2013 I applied for Social Security disability. After almost two years, I have yet to have the opportunity to have my case evaluated at the hearing level. As some of you may know, getting through a Social Security disability case is a very lengthy, daunting and repetitive process. With the hope that the delay in medical procedures has not lessened my chances for optimal recovery, I have decided to take the actions that bring this fundraising campaign to you today so further delay in treatment and potentially irreversible damage is avoided. I believe anyone reading this is fully aware that the longer personal illness or physical injury goes unaddressed, the worse the conditions may become. This has been true in my personal case with regard to the lumber and cervical conditions of my spine which include multiple spinal cord and foraminal impingements. In simpler terms : several protrusions are pressing on my spinal cord in multiple areas causing pain, discomfort, loss of mobilty/flexibility, loss of strength, muscle tremors, muscle spasms and numbness. After having been evaluated by over a dozen medical practitioners and surgeons with the aid of multiple MRIs, multiple x-rays and physical evaluations, I have been presented with medical treatment options. I am very optimistic about the chance of recovery and the opportunity of getting back into the work force after healing. Some of the treatments and procedures are invasive and some are non-invasive. The cost of the procedures an therapies that have been presented to me come to a total of $25,000 to $30,000. I am setting my fundraising goal at $28,000. I decided to name my fund raising campaign "Just a Nick in Time". As a twist on the familiar saying "just in the nick of time" ; I sincerely want to look back on the past two years of my life as simply this : Just a Nick in Time. A "Painful Nick" however, that I would never want anyone to have to experience at any age. As a male of 50 years of age, this experience has tested my beliefs, faith and courage more so than any other in my lifetime. I sincerely and humbly thank all of you who have taken the time to review my fundraising campaign. Spreading this campaign throughout other social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and others is greatly appreciated; not only as a way to help me reach my financial goal for the medical expenses at hand but to also motivate and inspire other individuals who may be in a similar situation to create a fundraising campaign of their own for their personal medical needs and circumstances. I send love and blessings to all of you who have contributed to crowdfunding campaigns in the past. Whether it be an aspiring artist, a budding entrepreneur or someone like myself who has fallen upon hard financial times due to physical injury or personal illness; crowdfunding has given many individuals like myself HOPE, in a situation that many times feels endlessly hopeless. Your gift/love offering will be received with my deepest level of gratitude and appreciation. May your lives be filled with health, happiness, love and HOPE. Blessings to you all. Sincerely, Paul H.
