Help Patricio recover from c3, c4 and c5 spinal surgery after horrific bike crash

Update posted by Isabela Escobar On Oct 16, 2019

Hi everyone, Isabela speaking, Pato's youngest sister.

Patricio underwent surgery yesterday for his spinal cord and vertebrae. As of now, results are inconclusive, but his neurosurgeons said that they felt that procedure went well and without complications. The fact that he survived the surgery is already a HUGE VICTORY.

Now it all depends on how his rehabilitation and healing progresses. Its a delicate subject, and I can't make any definitive statements, but, I can tell you one thing for sure: If this had happened to someone else, a different forty-one-year-old without Patricio's physical training and endurance, their chances of full recovery would have been a lot LOT LOT lower. He is in top physical condition, a true example of athletic prowess and fitness, and that affects his healing abilities positively. He also has one of the most resilient spirits I've ever known in a human being.

That being said, post-op is the most fragile of times for any patient. There are many things that could go wrong, or cause complications, so we have to remain vigilant. Pato is still hospitalized, he is still in the ICU, and he still needs 24 hour care. His Wife, children and our mother and sister are there at his beside, offering their undivided attention. Now all we can do is wait.

It should be known that once Patricio pulls through this, Cause he WILL, he and his family still have a long, difficult journey ahead of them. A injury of this nature could take years to fully heal. We still need as much help as we can get, as much prayers and positive energy as we can muster, and as much hope and togetherness from the community as humanly possible.

Keep him in your thoughts, and in your prayers. Edge him on, tell him "Go Pato! Go!". Even if you can't donate, help spread his story. And dont forget to tell everyone to say #FuerzaPatricio

Much Love, Isabela.

ESPANOL

Alientenlo, diganle "¡Go Pato! ¡Go!".

Mucho amor, Isabela.

We were elated when our daughter, Tanvika was born a year ago. However, soon after her birth, we’ve been shuttling between hospital and home. My little baby has not known a life beyond pain. Her rare blood disorder has deprived her of a happy childhood and has filled her life with miseries. State Bank of India Account number-- 35884742378 IFCS(BIC)-- SBIN0015806 Swift code-- SBININBB476
