First I would like to thank you for taking the time to view this page.

His name is Patch because he is all black and has a white patch just under his neck :) I don’t know his real age but he is nearly 4 years old since I got him. I found him four years ago near my house looking very tired. I tried looking on his red collar for any contact details of his owner but it didn't have any. I thought he needed some water or milk so I brought him milk in a cup. He finished it rather quick so I thought he just must have been dehydrated. I went to get him some more from my house, and as I looked back he was following me. I gave him the second cup of milk on my doorstep; he didn't finish it this time and then shortly after he walked away. I didn't see him again until a few days after. This time he came to my doorstep and this time he wasn't wearing his red collar. It was then I figured his owner must have abandoned him :(
I tried knocking on all doors of my neighbourhood asking if they know where he's from but I had no luck. I didn't let him in the house for the first few days in case he went back, but he never left. So I welcomed him into my house and kept him as my own. That’s the story how I found him!

However, a couple of days ago Patch went missing. This was very strange as he never leaves for more than a day. I tried leaving his food outside expecting it to be gone by the next day but it never did. I hadn't seen him for three days so I started to get really worried. I made posters and displayed them where I could, hoping someone had seen him. A couple of days later, a lady rang me saying she had found Patch lying on the ground looking in quite some pain and so took him immediately to the local vet.

The doctor said Patch had fractured both his front legs badly. We don’t know what caused this to happen to him but they said it’s likely he fell off a very high obstacle and tried landing on his feet but the momentum was too much and it fractured both his front legs. The x-rays showed that the cracking of the bones ware severe and they don’t know if the bones would heal, even after surgery :(
But I know they’re only saying this because it will be cheaper and easier for them. So I decided to take him to a private vet and give him all the treatment he needs. However the cost of these treatments can really pile up. First there is the surgery, and then hopefully if that goes well, there are the regular check-ups and x-rays as well as different antibiotics. There is only so much I can do to help so that’s why I am asking the public to help poor little Patch. Please I ask you to give generously whatever amount you can afford. Even the smallest of donations can make a big difference. And of course Patch and I will be forever grateful :)

People say he’s only a cat, but they don’t realise after caring and loving a pet for so long he practically becomes part of your family. And I will do everything I can to help Patch just as I would if it was a human being.

Thank you very much for your time.
