Zander Angelo Silleza is my 9-year-old nephew. He is diagnosed with Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (Non-Hodgkin).
He started having abdominal pains toward the end of July 2022. A lump was felt on his abdomen. He was admitted to the hospital (EVRMC). After some tests, it was diagnosed as a lymph node infection and was administered with antibiotics. He became better and did not feel any pain again during the time that he was taking the antibiotics but when all was consumed, he started to be in pain again. This time, it was worst. The lump became bigger. He started refusing to eat and drink as it causes him pain. He was rushed to the same hospital and ran some tests again. Zander kept taking painkillers every day (both oral and injected) while waiting for the result, which came out after weeks. Doctors said it was Lymphoma and suggested sending samples to PGH for further testing.
Last September to November 2022, Zander underwent Chemotherapy. (He celebrated his 9th birthday in the hospital.)Good news! His body responded well! Our boy is a fighter! From December to January 2023, he is staying at home, resting, and making his body healthy. From time to time, he does his modules and just recently went back to school for a few days as he was bored at home.
This coming 5 February 2023, he needs to go back to the hospital for the second round of Chemotherapy. The whole family is worried again seeing his thin body undergo a series of tests and medications but seeing him fight and says 'Kaya ko! Lalaban pa!' gave us hope. We will never give up. We know the Lord is with him, fighting with him! Our boy is brave! He is a fighter!
The costs for the Chemotherapy and the tests are burdensome for us hence we are asking for help. Your prayers will be of great help as well. Thank you so much!
