Campaign Story
Help us in our Family's fight with Cancer
The BIGGEST and GREATEST "C" is CHRIST
We are knocking to your generous/kind hearts to help us with our Mom's medical expenses and long term treatment to extend her life. Any amount will be greatly appreciated by our family.
Our mama Ramona Lapiad coordinator of MBG of our parish for more than 20 years: selfless, hardworking, helpful to those who were in need, compassionate and committed to serve the Lord, the sweetest, witty, my idol and my greatest gift in this lifetime from God.
2017 undergone operation for Papillary Thyroid Cancer, Radioactive Iodine Therapy constantly monitored every 6months to avoid reocurrence but due to the risk of being infected by COVID-19 wasn't able to continue her hospital check-ups due to the fear off acquiring the disease since she is considered as high risk.
Later this Sep to Dec 2021, continuous enlargement of the abdomen was noticed, decided to go for a checkup on what's the real problem. Series of tests had been done during that period (Abdominal Ultrasound, Abdominal CT Scan, Transvaginal Ultrasound)
By Jan. 4, 2022, almost all of the test had been completed and found out that there was an ovarian cyst, myoma and massive ascites (fluid caused by the cyst) found on her abdomen the reason of its enlargement. Abdominal paracentesis was the original plan that will be done on the same date however her companion was tested positive to COVID and can't proceed with the procedure because she is considered as highly exposed. We were advised to be quarantined for the next 14 days and proceed with the abdominal paracentesis.
Currently, our Mom was admitted since January 24, 2022 at the hospital for the schedule of her procedure paracentesis- draining of the fluid accumulated in her abdomen due to the masses found in her ovaries as a result of her CT Scan and Ultrasound Results.
January 25, 2022 done with the paracentesis and with abdominal pigtail insertion to drain the massive ascites, to ease the constant pain she's feeling. Continuous draining every 8-12 hours had been done to her as removing all the ascites in just one session will lower her blood pressure.
Still under observation, after several tests and procedures (CT-Scan, Ultrasound, X-Ray) Doctors found out that fluid from stomach already reached the lungs and was given antibiotics.
January 28, 2022 experienced heart palpitations and was transferred to Progressive Intensive Care Unit for close monitoring due to the found blood clot on lungs and other parts of the legs, under monitoring/observation for it not to worsen. With the blood clot found on the right part of her lungs, she needs to use an HI-flow Oxygen to maintain the oxygen level as she experienced breathing difficulty because of the blood clot
As of today our Mom is still admitted in the hospital, under close monitoring, treatment of the blood clot and still fighting her illness. Confirmed Cancer but still waiting the test results to identify its type. Praying for the clot not to worsen and physically prepare her for her next treatments which will be a series chemotheraphies to minimize the sizes of the masses and operation if will be possible.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who extended a helping hand to us. You are our blessings from God. We thank you for the prayers, financial assistance, spiritual and emotional support to Mama and our family. Please continue to pray for her and our family. May God Bless us all.
Prayer:
Lord we are entrusting all our happiness, sadness, fear, pain and our all to You. All that we have is all from Your unending grace and your goodness Oh Lord. Please give us strength to face the challenges that comes our way and please be with us O Lord. Your will be done O Lord. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Mama Fight! I love you. ❤️
