Help our little fighter baby Zackeo

Zackeo needs earthly angels like you so he can have a fighting chance to live.

Zackeo was born last October 2 and is the second child of my cousin, Israel and his wife Princess. Everything seemed normal with Zackeo but he started to repeatedly vomit on his second day of life. This prompted his parents to bring him to a local hospital in Bulacan. The pediatrician noted that Zackeo’s stomach was bloated and has jaundice (yellowish skin). Further tests revealed that Zackeo has a rare congenital digestive disorder called Duodenal Atresia. Zackeo has a complete blockage in his small intestine. Duodenal atresia occurs between 1 in 1,000 and 1 in 5,000 live births. Sadly, our Zackeo is one of them.

Zackeo was transferred to Manila Medical Center for a life-saving surgery. He was immediately admitted in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and was treated with photo therapy for his jaundice. After his negative COVID test results, the surgery was performed last October 11. Upon the operation, the team of surgeons discovered a complication which is Intestinal Malrotation, the twisting of the intestine that causes the blockage. His appendix was also removed for it is not already in its proper place. Zackeo will be spending weeks in the NICU for his full recovery.

Our little bundle of joy is only 10 days old and is fighting this enormous battle to live. Zackeo’s father is an educator while his mom is a full-time housewife taking care of Zackeo’s 2-year old sister. Their savings have already been depleted with the recent hospitalizations. We need your help and prayers to pull Zackeo out of imminent danger. We appeal to your kind hearts to help us raise sufficient funds for Zackeo’s surgery and post operative recovery which the doctors estimated to reach P1,000,000.
