Campaign Story
Adolescence is a transitional phase all young girls should be excited about. However, in South Africa adolescence cannot be celebrated by many girls because it comes with many challenges.
With the high level of poverty and low income households, finding sanitary protection. UNESCO estimates that one in 10 African school girls miss school during their menstruation period and eventually drop out of school.
This campaign aids to raise money to support these girls and help them go to school. We also hope to include some sort of pain remedies in future.
Our long-term goal is to provide free sanitary protection to young girls, accessible at school or in public toilets. This will be done through more donations and running a cost-effective local factory to make cost-effective and/or reusable sanitary solutions; similar to AFRIpads run in Uganda.
